Customers new to our service
If you are new to our fertilization and weed control services, I want to thank you for giving us the opportunity to work with you on your landscape. When you have questions or see something in the landscape you do not understand, please bring it to our attention. We will see your property seven to ten times in the next twelve months. You see it every day, so let us know if something does not look right.
I have a detailed explanation of how rain and heat affect our services and a detailed explanation of the steps to a healthy and weed-free lawn. Please use the links below. Also, I have listed some frequently asked questions below.
What can be done about weak, stressed, or bare areas in the lawn?
There are a lot of reasons that cause weak, stressed, or bare areas in the lawn. Our fertilizers and weed control products do not cause them, and can rarely fix the problem alone. Some of the common causes of problem areas are tree roots (yes, tree roots, not shade), inconsistent watering, foot traffic, pet traffic, disease, adjacent hardscape, and poor drainage.
As part of your fertilization and weed control service, we will gladly help diagnose the problem(s). If you have signed up for Grub control, Armyworm control, or the Premium Fungus package, we will treat those areas as needed to help correct the problem. If you do not have any of those services, I recommend starting them so we can help. If you do not take advantage of those additional services, we will still provide our recommendations.
Be aware that problem areas can only be corrected by a combination of landscape work and our carbon-based amendments. It is very rare that our amendments will work alone to correct a problem.
How long does it take to get rid of weeds in my lawn?
Our weed control products are the best available. They are the lowest impact products on the market, and they are the most expensive. Because of the way each weed control product works, we must differentiate each type of turf grass and treat it accordingly.
Each service during the year builds on the last. There will almost always be some weeds in the lawn. Please read my ‘4 steps to a healthy and weed-free lawn’ for details. Once we treat weeds, it takes 17 to 21 days for them to die, but they will. If you are just starting our program, you will not see a lot of progress in the first six months.
My fertilization and weed control service is a long-term solution. The goal is a healthy landscape that is mostly weed-free using the safest products available. If we work together, we can achieve that goal.
What happens if it rains?
I have written a very detailed explanation of how rain affects our products and services. Please use the link.
The short answer is that rain does not negatively impact our products or services. Please let us decide when and if we need to reschedule a service. It is our job to monitor your landscape, and part of that is keeping your property on schedule.
As always, contact me with any questions.
